About
Benetech is a nonprofit organization based in Palo Alto, California with a focus on technology to serve humanity. We pursue projects with a strong social return rather than financial return to create innovative scalable solutions to challenging issues in society.
Programs include:
• Benetech’s Human Rights Program, which develops tools for capturing, documenting and analyzing human rights abuses, supporting both front-line human rights defenders as well as truth commissions and war crimes tribunals.
• Bookshare, the world’s largest accessible online library for people with print disabilities, providing accessible books to more than 150,000 students with print disabilities.
• Miradi, software that helps environmental conservation planner’s design, manage, monitor, and learn from their projects.
Benetech chooses its current and new projects based on the possibility of revolutionizing the way people do business in a field of social endeavor. We offer donors exciting opportunities for philanthropic leverage in making social change at scale.
